Rome in one day: Visit Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel, Colosseum and Forum – C2

The tour starts with a visit to the Colosseum, a huge and amazing masterpiece of engineering; here 50,000 spectators could quickly find their place and watch cruel fights between gladiators and fierce beasts. Walking along the “Via Sacra” of the Roman Forum, you will recall the deeds of great emperors among the remains of basilicas and temples. You will admire the majestic Basilica of Maxentius and the Arch of Titus that introduce the panoramic hill of the Palatine, chosen by the Emperors as their place of residence.

Between 13:00 and 14:00 you will be taken to a real Roman trattoria selected by us, for a typical lunch.

In the museums you will appreciate countless masterpieces such as the splendid “Raphael’s Rooms”, once the official residence of the popes, and other treasures among the galleries, such as the collections of ancient mosaics, precious Greek and Roman sculptures and especially the Tapestries and Geographical Maps Rooms. The incredible Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement”, are certainly the real attraction. Remember to cover your shoulders and knees before entering the Sistine Chapel.
You will enter St. Peter’s Basilica, where you and your guide will enter through a special door. The largest and richest Basilica in the world will welcome you with Michelangelo’s “Pieta” and leave you with the embrace of Bernini’s immense colonnade.
