ITINERARY

Departure from your hotel

The package includes a transfer service directly from your hotel half an hour before the start of the tour. A private driver will take you to the meeting with the guide who will guarantee the service skips the line.

Colosseum, Forum Romanum and Palatino

The tour starts with a visit to the Colosseum, a huge and amazing masterpiece of engineering; here 50,000 spectators could quickly find their place and watch cruel fights between gladiators and fierce beasts. Walking along the “Via Sacra” of the Roman Forum, you will recall the deeds of great emperors among the remains of basilicas and temples. You will admire the majestic Basilica of Maxentius and the Arch of Titus which introduce the panoramic hill of the Palatine Hill, chosen by the Emperors as their place of residence.

Fountains and squares

You will admire the Barcaccia Fountain and the Spanish Steps of Trinità dei Monti, named after the church at the top of the hill. The Trevi Fountain is the largest and most spectacular Roman fountain, built at the end of one of the aqueducts that supplied water during the Roman Empire. During the “Rome in a day” tour you cannot miss the Pantheon, a miraculously well preserved masterpiece, whose diameter has never been equaled, and Piazza Navona with Bernini’s glorious Fountain of the Four Rivers, the Nile, the Ganges, the Danube and the Rio de la Plata.

Lunch

Between 13:00 and 14:00 you will be taken to a real Roman trattoria selected by us, for a typical lunch.

Sistine Chapel

In the Vatican Museums you will appreciate countless masterpieces such as the splendid “Raphael’s Rooms”, once the official residence of the popes, and other treasures among the galleries, such as the collections of ancient mosaics, precious Greek and Roman sculptures and especially the Tapestries and Geographic Map Rooms.
The incredible Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s “Last Judgement” are definitely the real attraction. Remember to cover your shoulders and knees before entering the Sistine Chapel.

Saint Peter’s Cathedral

You will enter St. Peter’s Basilica, where you and your guide will enter through a special door. The largest and richest Basilica in the world will welcome you with Michelangelo’s “Pieta” and leave you with the embrace of Bernini’s immense colonnade.

Return to your hotel

The driver will take you back to your hotel or anywhere in the city centre.
